Our libraries are so important to us, giving our little ones a chance to read many different books without an astronomical amount of money. They also have special events that give them something fun (and free!) to do. Since these libraries are so important, we want to highlight and recognize the amazing librarians who are responsible for all of our kiddos great memories. We ask them the questions you want to know. 

This week, we are introducing to you the Six Mile Regional Library District's Children Librarian? Erica Hanke-Young:

What inspired/encouraged you to become a librarian? Is there one specific moment when you knew this what you wanted to do?

Always had a love for reading. Grew up in a small town with no library. Worked at the library while I was in college. Thought about becoming a College Librarian but wound becoming

Morgan Morning

What is your favorite children's book, or series now?

Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson

Do you have a favorite children's author?

Any that can get a child excited about reading is a favorite of mine! I actually have two, Mo Williams and Amy Dyckman. 

Storytime and Legos, these are two of our regular programs.

Is there anything else we should know about you or the Six Mile Library?

Would like to for families to know that we have e-books for children. We also have the Cloud Library app with library audiobooks and tumble books. Graphic novels are a good way to help a child that might be struggling with reading
