Are you looking for a way to give back?

By Regeana Canada, publisher of Macaroni Kid Edwardsville-Glen Carbon, IL November 11, 2019

With the Holidays quickly approaching, are you and your family looking for a way to give back or wanting to start a new family tradition throughout the Holidays? Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes is a way to do this.

Alicia Otero has been running a card campaign for the past seven years, that supports our troops. In the last seven years over 20k cards have been collected for our troops.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

  1. If you have any leftover holiday cards (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Year, etc) can you kindly donate them to me so that I can use them to SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, VETERANS, and MILITARY FAMILIES? Anything is appreciated.
  2. Take a pack of cards to Thanksgiving dinner for family to sign.
  3. If your children participate in Girl or Boy scout troops have a signing party with their troop.
  4. Have a signing party at your local Retirement Center, VFW, Knights of Columbus, Church, etc.
  5. Lunch & Sign: Set up signing table in your work group during lunch
  6. Spread the news about the card campaign

Alicia is looking for those inspired to drop off signed cards at the Maryville Community Library by November 30th.  For further information click on name, Alicia Otero.

May you all have a Wonderful Holidays!
